DEX24: Diagnostic Excellence 2024 Meeting

Co-hosted by UCSF CODEX and the University of Minnesota.

About the Event

The inaugural Diagnostic Excellence 2024 Meeting (DEX24), co-sponsored by the University of Minnesota and the UCSF Coordinating Center for Diagnostic Excellence (CODEX), gave attendees the opportunity to learn from leaders and experts about the impact of artificial intelligence on diagnosis, practice-changing research, curricular innovations, and much more. We were delighted that so many were able to join us in person in Minnesota. We had attendees and presenters visiting from across the country – and around the world!

Key Takeaways

  • The diagnostic excellence field remains strong. Despite many changes over the past year, there is a large population of clinicians, patients, researchers, and educators who are advancing the field in tangible ways.
  • Artificial intelligence represents a major opportunity; the diagnostic excellence field needs to be at the table as AI tools are developed to ensure they meet the needs of clinicians and patients.
  • The next steps for diagnostic excellence involve implementing solutions in real-world settings and continuing to expand the scope and reach of the field.
  • The Community Improving Diagnosis in Medicine (CIDM) has created a message forum for those in the field to connect.
