About the Event

As AI tools proliferate across healthcare, the outstanding question is no longer just about what the technology can do, but what we can and should do with it.

This month, we're delighted to welcome Grace Cordovano, PhD, BCPA, and Philip Payne PhD, FACMI, FAMIA, FAIMBE, FIAHSI, for a timely conversation on AI-enabled and systems-based strategies to reduce diagnostic errors. They’ll focus on using advanced computational methods to facilitate shared decision-making and patient-centered care. Drawing on the framework outlined in the National Academy of Medicine’s Artificial Intelligence Code of Conduct for Health and Medicine (linked below), Drs. Cordovano and Payne will explore the foundational concepts underpinning responsible AI development and use in this context.

Join us to dive into the promise and complexity of building shared behavioral expectations that encourage a humanistic approach to AI design, implementation, and evaluation. You'll also hear from our experts as they reflect on how this code-of-conduct model compares to more extreme perspectives—such as accelerationism and altruism—which represent maximalist and minimalist approaches to AI in healthcare.
