Drawing on a recent report reviewing 26 California bills alongside state, federal, and cross-state legislative developments, she walked us through the key themes shaping how policymakers are approaching crafting regulations that protect patients while fostering innovation that can improve the system for all.

Dr. Silcox spoke on the major governance and risk management frameworks emerging in health AI policy, including requirements around the disclosure of AI use, transparency, and combatting bias. She also addressed broader considerations that cut across the policy landscape, as well as key takeaways and practical guidance for researchers, clinicians, and health system leaders thinking about what current and coming policies mean for their work.
